Gary Glen Price-Yale Law?ECept Education > Online Degree Q. I just noticed that you posted a very interesting list of the 50 schools most represented at Harvard Law on the PR board. When you do it for Yale, I'd love to see it posted here, since I don't usually check the teen-angst filled Princeton Review board and Harvard and Yale Law seem to attract quite different students. A. The original posting of the Harvard Law list to which you refer was here on news:soc.college.admissions. Links to that analysis and discussions of it are shown below. http://groups.google.com/groups?&selm=32BA2683.6285%40facstaff.wisc.edu http://groups.google.com/groups?&threadm=32BA2683.6285%40facstaff.wis... http://groups.google.com/groups?&selm=377C1444.909FBFF6%40facstaff.wi... As of five years ago, the ten undergraduate origins most heavily represented at Yale Law School (relative to school size) were: Yale, Harvard, Amherst, Williams, Stanford, Swarthmore, Dartmouth, Princeton, Spelman, and Columbia. I'm withholding a more complete release of this analysis until the eventual publication of a college-comparing book based on data-digesting analyses. Until then, this morsel will need to suffice. In their research, Yale is known for more pragmatic, public policy oriented focus with a very strong Washington connection while Harvard's focus is on studying the root causes of social, political and economic problems. Simplistically (overly), academic Harvard detects and analyzes the problems and pragmatic Yale designs workable public policy solutions. Absolutely. The average class size at Yale is 150 students. At Harvard, it's over 600. Yale sends approximately 33% of its graduates to judicial clerkships, the highest of any law school; no law job is as valuable as a judicial clerkship. I honestly cannot imagine why anyone would want to attend Harvard Law School for anything other than the prestige of the name (and perhaps the ambiance of Cambridge).
