Excessive Speed on Wisconsin Highways

Q. I'm concerned about the speed with which a number of drivers travel the roads in Wisconsin, particularly in Waukesha County. Perhaps it's the pace of life today but I don't recall the roads being so threatening years ago. What's it going to take for our local governments to step up enforcement of posted speeds? I live on a county trunk highway posted for 55 MPH and that's about fast enough. Line of sight distance is limited, surfaces vary, shoulders are non-existent and farm equipment and animals frequently are in the right-of-way. Cars pass my home regularly doing 60-70 MPH+. Calls to the Waukesha County Sheriff go unanswered. Does someone have to die before anyone begins working on a solution?
