Whittier Law School, law school questionECept Education > Online Degree Q. I would like to go to law school. I do not have a bachelors degree. I am a Registered Nurse. Anyone know of any "good" law schools that are accredited and will take less than a bachelors degree for acceptance? A. I don't know where you live, but in most states, you need a bachelor's to enter law school. California is one of the few states where you can get a license after going to law schools that don't necessarily require a bachelor's. Most of those schools are NOT ABA-accredited. Some are. I went to law school in 1995. I started at Whittier Law School because it was the ONLY local ABA-accredited school that would let me in without a bachelor's (I was in my 40's and had completed about 2 years of college MANY years earlier). I did very well at Whittier and transferred for my last 2 years to UCLA Law School, which like almost every other school refused to let me in -- or even apply -- as a first-year but would consider me as a transfer. Mind you, things change, so what a law school does in one year it may not do in another year. Wrong. In Canada you do have to have a bachelor's degree for law school, except in Quebec where the civil law degree is an undergraduate program, and Quebec of course is a Civil Code jurisdiction. While it might be technically correct that a bachelor's degree is not required for law school, in practical terms, the admissions committees do not consider applicants without a bachelor's degree (hence why they ask for your GPA in your last two years of university on application).
