Q. I am in a job where I must move every year or two and need an accredited University that will allow me to persue a B.S. in Network management or Information Technology. I currently hold A.A.S. degrees in Network management and Electronics Technology. UofP offers an ideal program, but is it respected by the industry or am I just paying a lot of money for a degree awarded for just sitting in class/ on-line?

A. I cannot speak to the University of Phoenix but I would encourage you to take a look at the UMass Lowell distance learning IS program. After a most unsatisfactory experience with the UMUC CMIS program I transferred to UML. I am very pleased with the program content and the faculty has been just superior about accessibility. UML is an accredited state university and the tuition is quite reasonable at $200 per semester credit
