i was looking for maybe some online courses ,can anyone help me?

Q. I want to further my knowledge with Retirement Planning and was looking for maybe some online courses on this and also, any particular license(s) that I need to hold. Also, Texas has an Insurance Counselor license. Anyone know what that is and what I can all do with it.

For more education on annuities and retirement planning, go here: http://www.amercoll.edu/ The Insurance Counselor license, also known as a Brokers License in some other states, allows you to give insurance advice for a fee (i.e., no commission). Some financial planners that operate on a fee-for-service basis willfully violate the law when they give out advice on the subject of insurance without either an Agents or a Brokers (aka Insurance Counselor) license. This issue is a thorn in the side of some of the holier-than-thou fee-only planners who think that not having a license was a good idea. At least one major planning association has remained mute on this subject, despite the fact that unlicensed fee-only planner members are willfully violating their own ethics guidelines by practicing without a license. If the rumor mill is indicative of future regulatory action, they will find themselves before a judge very, very soon -- if they are lucky. The unlucky ones will find themselves on the wrong end of a malpractice suit for giving out advice without the proper licenses. My litigator friends tell me that it is INEVITABLE that they will be getting into the back pockets of some of the planners who gave up their licenses, or worse yet, never had them to begin with.
