A. I confess I do not understand why they have never overturned the Slaughterhouse cases, or at least its evisceration of the Privileges and Immunities Clause. I'm not sure, but I think that somewhere I read that it has something to do with the "corporate person" legal fiction. There were some nasty side effects on business rights and regulation. I can try to find where I read this if you care. Don't go out of your way, but if you run into it again drop me a note; just remember I don't read alt.education as a rule, so posting it there will not catch my attention.
