Can anyone recommend training for software analyst/ requirements gathering and documentation?

Q. Can anyone recommend training - preferably online - for software analyst/ requirements gathering and documentation? A full blown university course is fine, as is more skills-focused training that is not a traditional college course.

A. Perhaps your best bet would be the professional societies (ASM, ASQ, SQE, etc.). If they don't offer training directly they probably have links to people who do. I would start there. Most of the requirements tool vendors offer courses, consulting, and mentoring on requirements elicitation, analysis, and specification. That's a job for google. Those sources will be face-to-face, though. For universities, I would look for those that emphasize software engineering process (CMU comes to mind). Whether they offer online courses is problematical; another job for web search. Alas, I don't offhand know of any web sites or online courses devoted to this per se, but I would assume there are some. Another job for google. (I got about 19K hits for "requirements specification software engineering training"; a more refined search should narrow that down.)
