What requirements are there for security training?

Q. We are currently updating our business strategy and we are thinking of offering training courses in IT security. We are probably looking at developing some 1-day courses, looking at particular aspects of security in reasonable detail. The sort of things we might include are, for example, "firewalls", "BS7799", "Java security", "viruses", "encryption", etc, etc. What I am trying to get a handle on is which topics would be of the most interest to people. The question I'd really like a (one word or phrase will do!) answer to is: "If your boss called you in and said that he/she was willing to pay for you to go on a one-day training course in IT security, but you could choose the topic, what would you choose?"

A. My gut reaction is waste of money. Second thought is - who are these courses aimed at and what is the purpose? Personally I find the whole area of internet security intriguing, but I know you can't learn it all (or even barely scrape the surface ) in one day.
