Q. Are there any good places on the Internet -- newsgroup, mailing lists, web pages -- that would help me promote a sales training group here in South Carolina? I've already submitted the site to major search engines, and am now attacking the regional sites. But I wonder if there are some standard great sales training sites that I should be linked to. Help or advice or sales sites?

A. -I started in sales seminars. You can submit until you're blue and probably only get a handful of good, solid leads. To make your website effective, have the URL on other advertising like direct mail and newspaper/trade mag ads. -The bad news is that you'll never do it just waiting for marketing ideas over the Web, or waiting for search engines to send clients rushing for your services. It's a complete myth that you open a Web site, and the world beats at path to your door. Maybe a few years ago, and only if you were selling low ticket items like books. The only way to succeed in promoting your sales training is to become very proactive on and off the Net.
