Continuing EducationECept Education > Continuing Education Q. I am forced into being a member of the ARRT by the stae of Pennsylvania and as such they are forcing us into continuing education. Does anyone know of any areas on the net I can be directed to where I can get some continuing education material? I really don't want to pay for a membership in the ASRT just to get continuing education materials. An entire department in our hospital would greatly appreciate any help. does the Michener Institute offer a course? A. The continuing education you need does not have to be radiology only. If you are in a hospital there is some one who handles continuing ed. for other health care personnel, contact them to help you get CEU. Everyone's cutting costs, unfortunately Tech education is one of the areas deeply affected. The ASRT Journal 'Scanner' always includes at least one article with mail in CEU credits. You may try to contact some of the representatives of the drug companies, Bracco, Nycomed and Berlex all have Video series and educational programs they are more than willing to share with interested Techs, and they are usually arrange for accreditation. If a group of you want to share the costs, there are several Video series available that also offer CEU credits. Finally, don't hesitate to use the expertise of those within your own department, all they need is to submit a CV and course description, for a nominal fee ( I think $35) you can get CEU's through the ASRT. Techs and Radiologists can give classes, you can even consider asking some MD's from other areas in your institution.
