Q. After about a month of practice with a paid instructor,I took my driving test today and didn't get out of the parking lot. I'll practice at least once next week,with my instructor,and I hope to recruit a friend for more driving practice,too.Reversing,and parking-I've got to learn to do it easily,smoothly(and without hitting anyone!).In a couple of weeks or so,I'll probably retake the test.I really want to pass this.I'll like to get this done before I'm 30(which occurs at the beginning of December). So I'd like to ask for some GoodThoughts,prayers,whatever you have available,toward that end.

A. It was six months before my instructor felt I was ready to apply for my test.We also did a couple of "practice" tests,where he ran me through the manouvers that I would be expected to do in a real test,without comment or help,as if he was an Examiner.The practice tests get you used to the slightly nerve-wracking "exam" atmosphere. You'll do it-a bit more practice and calm nerves.
