distance education in INDIANA??

Q. I was hoping I hadn't deleted your "advertisement" for cataloging education in West Virginia, etc., but that one seems to be gone. Suddenly in the last week, distance education has become a hot topic at IU. South Bend is closing, nobody was notified in time to plan their schedules, people have bought houses in expectation of finishing the degree there, etc. And Thom Gillespie says he wrote a description of a proposed DE curriculum that was censored and not posted on SLIS-L, so he started another list and subscribed people to it without their knowledge.

A. It has been great fun wathching people who've never done it talk about delivering classes on TV and Internet, and I have jumped in a couple of times saying "look at South Carolina if you want to see a well-done program." Sooo, would you be willing to send the ad for the new WV program to me and let me post it to SLIS-L, just as an example? And, just between us, is it still working? Is Dr. Bob having a heart attack? Do you have 300 students in 702? Is Madonna still there and coping? etc, etc.? (And thank you for the plug--I appreciate it when you note it took 2 people to replace me :-) ) Ellen (teaching LCC this month and wishing you were here to help me! but I did find good examples/problems in the new ed. of Mannheimer's) Another good distance education program in library is the U of Arizona's.
